Premium brands are all about perception. If you have been staying at a 3-star hotel on most of your holidays, then almost all of the premium class hotels will be branded in your terms. You will not have to worry about authenticity as well, because premium brands will not sell you short.

Ideally, premium brands should not try to branch out into too many sub-categories. It reduces the premium quality of the product. However, at the same time, premium brands also run on a commercial aspect. Whatever plans they do have, they should do so and not dilute their original presence. The hiring of brand managers is what will help in such situations.

Premium brands are also blessed with a certain level of innovation and uniqueness to their approach. This is a possible justification to the often-high pricing. These brands come with a certain level of elitism attached to them. Also, premium brands stand apart in terms of their distinction. They have a set pattern in their production and most of the times the production pattern is not assembly line.

Premium brands are also advertised largely by word of mouth. Since an elite product is something only a few people enjoy, it is these very people who provide the publicity. Last but not least, the joys of purchasing such brands is unsurpassed.
